About Stephanie Napolitano

Stephanie Napolitano is a licensed mental health counselor in New York State (LMHC #005793) and a certified grief counselor through the American Institute of Health Care Professionals (AIHCP). She holds a certificate in Contemplative Care from the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, is EMDR trained, and has completed Prolonged Grief Therapy at Level 2. Stephanie is a proud member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) and the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association (APPA), and brings more than 12 years of psychiatric clinical research experience from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

She is passionate about changing the way we view grief — not as a symptom to be treated or a problem to be solved, but as an ongoing, living process that is entirely unique to each individual, existing outside any specific timeline or set of prescribed stages.

Stephanie incorporates contemplative and mindfulness practices into her work, and views each individual holistically — honoring the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of their experience as they move toward healing.

How I Can Help

Grief Counseling

Are you having difficulty regaining balance after losing someone special to you? I help clients work through and with the many emotions that loss brings.

End of Life Concerns

You know that change is coming, but you don’t know how to cope with it. I’m here to help from both caregiver and client perspectives.

Mindfulness-Based Approach

I view each individual holistically, taking into consideration mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects to move toward healing.

Free Consultation

Finding the right therapist is often difficult. I offer a free consultation so you can see if this is the right fit for you.

A Mindful & Collaborative Approach

Grief is not a disorder to be cured — it is a natural response to love and loss. My practice is built on the belief that healing unfolds in its own time, and that the role of a counselor is to walk alongside you, not to direct your path. Together, we draw on mindfulness, contemplative practices, and evidence-based modalities to help you find your way.

All sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, making quality grief counseling accessible to individuals throughout New York State — from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

A foundation of rigorous training, clinical experience, and ongoing professional development informs every aspect of the work we do together.
